Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Apparently, there is a new free school called Eden opening in Haringey. Does anyone know anything about it? I couldn't find anything on the web.

sorry meant to reply to Matt's post who had started the discussion.

Got the general impression through the discussion that you, Julie, are opposed to them. I don't know enough about them yet to oppose them outright.

I'm curious about the new free schools, do they employ regular teachers? Just thinking about that doc when Jamie Oliver set up a school with very clever people who excelled in their field but just couldn't get the kids to engage.

Although unfortunate, there is evidence that not all the extra cash pumped into the NHS led to better health outcomes for patients (look at the new GP contracts/salaries and the removal of their need to provide an out of hours service). It is too early (and there is currently a lack of evidence) to have a complete picture. One thing is sure though, waiting times have increased significantly since the new government started cutting back on funding and reduced KPI targets.

In regards to improving all public services, the best way to do this would be to make it a legal requirement that the immediate families of all elected posts (local and national) have to use the public services local to their constituency – you’ll see a rapid improvement in these without a massive increase in funding – a change of attitude to problem solving would happen overnight!

Billy the deficit comes from the point that the Public has to borrow money to to the job,and the Rich take the profit from this!Money earns money is absurd and pervers! In my belief:Haram!
I'm sure Will and all other community minded parents on here thank you for your concern Julie. If you're so worried may I suggest a call to the excellent Haringey Social Services. On the other hand if you're just having a dig at parents of young children posting online I find it slightly offensive
Hear hear!

Thanks Gina,

I'm glad you share my concerns.  There are many different forms of neglect and forums like this are clearly addictive for some people.

I was saying "hear hear" to finding it offensive.
Usual socialist tactic Billy - if you can't convince by argument, launch a personal attack.
und was machen die mainzelmaennchen da?
die spinnen.. wie immer..
ja leider;-)
I just thought it looked like me when I worked in TV broadcasting, At one time I had friends in the ZDF.

Of course those with 'clean sheets' never make (direct) personal attacks do they ?

This tory foible for 'exclusivity' is sickening..
