Free Microchipping

It will be a legal requirement for all dogs to be microchipped by April 2016. In preparation for this, a lot of charities this year are offering free microchipping for dogs.

Dogs Trust (www.dogstrust.org.uk) is offering free microchipping nationwide www.chipmydog.org.uk at homing centres, also at local events and some local vets.

Blue Cross (http://www.bluecross.org.uk/90804/blue-cross-guide-to-microchipping...) is offering free microchipping at their centres - I think to cats as well as dogs.

It's also important to get your cat microchipped. If you lose a cat or dog, you are much more likely to find it again if you had it microchipped.

If you know anyone with a cat or dog, please encourage them to get their pets microchipped and neutered. This will relieve the huge burden on animal charities and reduce the number of healthy animals being put down every day.
