Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Stephen Fitzsimons, a local children's author, is offering FREE author visits to schools for 7-11 year olds.

His book, Wishbone Billy, is rated 5 stars on Amazon. He will visit schools, do a brief talk about writing and how it came to be, do a Q&A, as well as creative writing activities. He doesn't charge for visits but does ask schools to allow children the opportunity to buy his book and cover any transport costs.

More information can be found on his website here:https://stephenfitzsimons.wordpress.com/school-visits/

“The author came to my school and gave us a workshop on how to write and become an author… He’s as entertaining as his book… I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND.” Amazon Review

Authors usually charge £250 - £300 standard fee to visit schools. Often part of this is where children get chance to buy the book and get it signed. Children like to do this. I wouldn't put books in same category as sugery drinks and snacks. Being encouraged to read and write is a positive thing. Schools also hold book fairs where children can buy books they want to read. Companies provide a selection of their books on offer.

I don't charge for the day as I want to share my love of writing and reading. I give children to buy my book and get it signed should they wish. I do not insist on this. They don't have to buy the book if they don't want. I don't have a minimal number of copies sold before I visit.
