An update from Notting Hill Genesis. And new information that the qualification counts as half a GCSE.

The Woodberry Down Design Studio is recruiting young Woodberry Down residents aged 13-19 years old for a series of 20 creative workshops introducing design, making and engineering skills as well as the opportunity to gain a Level 1 Foundation Project Qualification worth half a GCSE. The deadline for applications is Friday 6th November. To apply please return a completed form to roy@rcyyc.uk.
The project is led by local architects, RC/YYC and supported by Notting Hill Genesis, the London Borough of Hackney and Berkeley Homes.
Last year's cohort went on to design and build the Woodberry Down pavilion which turned out to be a real success! Please see photo below at the Hidden River Festival, where the pavilion was opened by then Mayor of Hackney, Caroline Woodley.
The Woodberry Down Design Studio will run from 9 November to 26 April, every Monday from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at the Edge Youth Hub, excluding half-terms and school holidays.
Upon completion of the programme, the young people will receive a Level 1 Foundation Project Qualification (FPQ), equivalent to half a GCSE.
We can also support with finding work experience placements for enthusiastic participants.
We have five spots available and are keen that these are all filled!
