Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Frankie has been waiting over a year for a permanent home.

Hi there, my name’s Frankie and as you can see I am a handsome lad. I am around 3 years old and have been neutered and microchipped. I am a big lover of feather toys and chilling on the bed, oh and food… especially chicken. I am a little bit shy, but if you give me a chance to settle in and get to know you I have so much love to give.

I was found as a stray, fighting for food and territory with lots of other cats that weren’t wanted and needed neutering and a home, just like me. I was so frightened when I was picked up that I froze with my heart beating ten to the dozen, but my fosterer has won me round with lots of love and plenty of patience too (well, that and the chicken!).

I have already been in temporary foster care for a year and I would love to not have to wait much longer for a permanent home. I would ideally like an adult home, or maybe with older children who will understand that I will need time to settle in. A home with a garden and catflap would be fab. I could live with cats, but no dogs for me thank you. If you have a little room in your heart for me, get in touch as soon as you can.

People say they love black cats....but black cats are the hardest to re home and are the most overlooked cats in the shelters. Please don't overlook Frankie.

If you would like to meet Frankie or find out more about him, please get in touch with Stokey Cats and Dogs by email and they will send you an application form. They would love to receive enquiries. Please note home checks apply.

Stokey Cats and Dogs are a local volunteer group who rescue local stray cats. It's vital that cats are neutered as there are so many homeless cats. They rescue cats and get them neutered, microchipped and rehomed. They also rely on and welcome funds donated by the community on their fundraising page here or you can donate via PayPal to stokeycatsndogs@gmail.com. They also have a Wish List on Amazon and have a Stokey Cats and Dogs Facebook group

(If you can't offer a permanent home to a cat, Stokey also urgently need more fosterers - which means providing a temporary home for a cat until a permanent home is found. You don't need to have a garden to foster. If more people foster, Stokey will be able to help more homeless cats).

Oh no Justine. I would love to take him to add to my black collection. Last time I tried to adopt another cat about 8years ago, it didn’t work out as my 2 don’t like other cats. Do you think it’s worth another try he looks adorable

Thanks for replying. I know you're an experienced cat owner and help rescue cats! So as you know, there are no guarantees, but the secret to getting on well is a very gradual careful introduction process. Getting that right from the start with time and patience is key and their scents should be mixed before they meet. Happy to give you details if needed of the process I've found works successfully.

Of course there are some cats who don't like any cats - if you tried before and it didn't work - the relevance of that depends partly on the introduction process you used at the time. If you have 2 cats, each cat needs to be gradually introduced to the new cat individually, not as a pair at the same time. I can't remember if your cats are male or female.
