Former council house on an estate built so the poor could move out of central london slums into homes of a decent size and with a garden. 

Now the government's idea is that the poor should all move back into shoebox slums further out of town, or even better (from the government's point of view) another poverty stricken town altogether.

And young professionals like me are buying the ex local authority properties because we can't afford to live anywhere else in London (I really can't afford London rents but a mortgage will be considerably less) or out of London (can't afford the transport costs).

Waiting (not so) patiently to exchange...
