Thanks for this update, which has set my mind at ease somewhat.  My attempts to peek through the window were obstructed by the workmen yesterday. I then saw the application in the window next door for a BetFred (which is still pasted to the window) and was worried they were going to knock the internal wall down and create an über-misery den...

I am pleased that Costa is moving in there - will create a few jobs and will populate a building which has been empty for a long time. It is a shame that it is a chain moving in but rather a chain coffee shop than a chain bookies. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen next door.....

the issue is mixed feeling. whatever they use it for, will bring employment to someone who would not have been employed and that is good news at this time.
However, if the premises if used for things that will create social/domestic problem is a worry

I agree. As councillors we sometimes hear the nonsense that a development is welcome purely because it is "economic activity" and "creates jobs".

The social irresponsibility of this approach crossed my mind during the current controversies about selling arms to dictators; and some of these monsters owning homes locally.

Thanks for the update. I agree with the above post. Much prefer a CC than fast food joint or an empty building and it will create jobs.
