For Sale for £80: a 1982 Claud Butler Majestic (Reynolds 531 Plain Gauge) cycle for someone who is 5’8’’. It’s not been ridden for about 30 years and was kept in a shed/garage for all but the last 4 months when it has been exposed to the elements (albeit under a sheet) so it’s not in great condition. There used to be a Claud Butler shop at 71 Grand Parade - pic here, alomg with a little history and a link to some old footage of the shop at BFI.

Thanks for this, Hugh. I remember seeing that post on HoL and thought it was fascinating. I bought this bike in Bath (where I come from) back in 1982 - little did I know then that 40 years later I would be living around the corner from one of the Claud Butler shops. Richard
