Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Will there ever be another Harringay food festival? The two we had were fantastic!

No, it's been much more noticeable here and previous London house price increases had not been reflected locally. The next thing holding house prices back is the traffic, IMHO.

But Michael you're surrounded in smashed avocado on sourdough for lunch, pulled pork in brioche for dinner, washed down with local ale or this week's cocktail ... pop up restaurant, art show at local bar, music on the green, Zumbini class @ 10am, gritty techno at 4am in trading estate warehouse ... one could go on. Ask the local estate agents across London. They love it.

more of thing kind of thing pls

Well how about a smaller street festival along the lines of the Xmas street fairs that were held. There must be enough musicians, choirs, school groups in the area who could perform and traders and others to have stalls???

You mean stuff like this?

I think it's a shame that we have to put up with all the crowds, disruption, traffic, litter, noise of the big concerts in Finsbury Park, and yet there's not the money to put on a local festival we could all participate in and enjoy - perhaps that's where some of the revenue from all the concerts could be spent.

or this which was a fantastic day out last year

Just do it? Other than people to organize it its a lot about money but there's some mayor of London money available at the moment for this type of thing - up to £5k. Don't do it on Green Lanes and that makes it much cheaper. Do it in a park and could get another £1k from the council, perhaps do at Finsbury Park like the Hidden River festival was. Try and get the Endymion Road / Green Lanes corner opened up for the day for it? A Harringay community thing in Finsbury Park could help against that Neighbourhood forum land grab...

I agree they were fantastic and most definitely put green lanes on the map and yes lot of the gentrification that has followed. But yes an awful

out of the work

as for Finsbury Park events. People pay a lot of money to go to them, including many people who live locally. So maybe you should suggest we all pay towards food festival, if that’s your argument Maddy
