Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The Gospel Centre, corner of Raleigh Road and Wightman N8 0LT has been running a food bank as part of a wider Haringey food bank for over 7 years with numerous members of the local community.

Now due to changing circumstances we are not guaranteed our usual supply of food. Therefore, we invite further supplies from members of the public of non-perishable food.

The best time to drop off supplies including toiletries is on Tuesday 6.30-8.30pm and Sunday 11-1pm when we are open to those in need who visit our food bank.

Many thanks.

Can you give more advice on the kind of thing you need? is it the usual pasta/tinned fish etc? I think perhaps you mean 'non-perishable' food do you?

Hi Sophie

Yes I do mean 'non perishable' (now edited). The particular things we are currently short of are rice, tinned tomatoes, tinned fruit, rice pudding, juice and tinned meat.

Many thanks

....and long life milk please!

I would like to donate.  I don't drive and currently have back issues so can't carry heavy things.... Would it be possible for me to arrange for a delivery shop?

Otherwise happy for someone to collect...

Hello,

I could collect. The best time is Sunday morning around 9.30am, though could do a bit later.

Thanks

I have found a way to drop some off so will pop in next weekend

thanks

Does the food left at Sainsbury’s in hornsey high stree go to you?

No. If it has the Trussell Trust details on it, it will normally be picked up by people from the Selby Centre. We are liaising with them still, though working on our own too to meet the needs of local people in need.

Thanks

Hi,

Do you accept frozen food? I have some I could donate.

Thanks

Hello Gillian,

I am afraid not. No freezer facilities.

Thanks,

Hiya, in addition to staples would the food bank like to receive things like dried herbs and spices, condiments etc? I realise space might have to be prioritised to core foodstuffs so thought I'd check....

I would say yes. It is better if they are in small bags or containers. Many thanks
