Food Bank looking to Spring forward

Now it's the school holidays and Easter my sense that it is quieter in the neighbourhood, with some people away. For the Food Bank we continue with our service as best as we can. Our numbers had gone down a bit as the New Year passed, but in the last few weeks we have now seen a definite increase in our numbers. We have had a steady core of volunteers with others who occasionally helped. We are now seeing that erode, so we need to be open to new people volunteering on a Saturday morning from 10am-12.15pm. It is more about availability and willingness to help out wherever needed. Assisting us for two Saturdays a month is probably what we are looking for, apart from months when you are on holiday. After a while with new volunteers it is usually possible to find a couple of roles where people feel they are more comfortable. We are also expanding our information and signposting service, so an interest in this could be helpful. We are linked into receiving external training in person every 6 weeks on a Tuesday  at Chestnuts Community Centre from 5.30-6.30pm starting in early May.
