I spoke with Garden Ladder owner Simon Walters today and got an update on his water-to-plate fish venture at the Garden Ladder.

Apparently all tanks are up and running, the first batch of fish are settled in and growing fast and the plants are growing.

So, it won't be too long before one of the UK's first aquaponic restaurants is in full flow!

Owner Simon gave me another quick tour today - fascinating stuff - a completely self-conatined ecosystem supporting fish and a whole range of veggies. The courgettes are in already and have started to grow flowers after just a week and a half. I was glad to see that there'll be fresh coriander too (that another of my 'one weaknesses').
