Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I've just discovered that one of our lovely neighbours has managed to fire a firework onto our conservatory roof, which has caused a hole to melt into it.  I am not impressed.  I am 99% certain where it came from, but can't prove it, which is extremely irritating.  We've temporarily fixed it with expandifoam, but I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and, if so, what they did about it (in terms of fixing it, not in terms of sorting the neighbours out!).

The sooner fireworks are banned, the better. Bah Humbug!

Hi Bethany

DIY stores do this stuff called 'flashband' (try Wickes, I know they stock it), anyway... you peel the silver backing off and it gives you a sticky bitumous patch that you can cover holes in roofing felt with.  It is sort of like a giant plaster but nowhere as neat!  It comes in different sizes but a small roll should do it, about 4-5 inches wide (100-125mm in new money:)

I hope that helps.

Thanks Steve - it's a conservatory, so it has a transparent/translucent plastic roof.

Oh yes sorry... hmm tricky one.  Will give you a shout if I come across someone that can do an inexpensive repair.
