For sale here is a fireplace comprising what seems to be a Victorian cast iron insert along with a contemporary wooden surround/mantelpiece and a marble hearth. It is a complete set up, and was installed as a cosmetic rather than functioning fireplace, but I see no reason why it should not be used for real fires. It was removed carefully from our house in order to install a different style of fireplace. It was probably installed around 10 years ago by the previous owners.

The surround is in excellent condition and was recently painted. The marble hearth is also in excellent condition with no defects to note. The insert itself has some defects such as a missing fixing point on one side and one missing ‘hook’ on the part that tilts backward to allow smoke up the chimney (sorry I don’t know the technical term), but nothing major and such things are to be expected with an item of its age. It did not present any problems when it was installed and had been securely fixed.

The insert is 36” / 91.5cm high and 30” / 76cm wide.

The surround is 46 1/8” / 117.2cm high, 45” / 114.2cm wide at the bottom and 49 ¾” / 126.5cm wide at the mantelpiece.

The hearth is 45 ¾” / 116.5cm wide and 15” / 38cm across at the widest point.
