Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi.

Can anybody recommend a good supplier of fire wood?

We have a wood burning stove and have always had firewood delivered from Premium Wood Ltd. but they now seem impossible to contact.

Thanks.

Highgate Cemetery usually has free fire wood available at the East Side gate.  Most of it is ash, but newly cut, not seasoned, best to store for about a year before burning.  A small donation to the Friends of Highgate Cemetery is appreciated.

Poundland at the Arena is currently doing kiln-dried logs for £4 a bag!

Logs are occasionally available on Haringey Gumtree (free or to buy)

I was thinking of fitting a wood burner but wasn't sure about the smokeless zone and what I'm allowed to burn.

Your wood burner should be approved for use in a smokeless zone. If in doubt, you will never be caught  as Haringey has no dept or personnel to check this.

So it's ok to pollute the atmosphere then?

driving a car is much worse so why not have a go at car drivers. Sorry for offending you by trying to be helpful...it won't happen again.

I use  http://www.log-delivery.co.uk they deliver various sizes, plus bags of kindling, so if you don't have too much room to store you can get 'Barrow Bags' etc. The wood is kiln dried and suitable for burners designed for smokeless zones.

Thanks everybody, for your suggestions - very helpful.

Steve.

Hello I have one ton bags filled with seasoned hard wood. It's from a. Old tree that had to be reduced for safety . You can collect a whole bag but would need to move manually to your car from the back garden so bring smaller bags. £55 for one ton.
