Finsbury Park - Krankbrother Licence variation application - decision AND appeal

On 22 February the Council’s Licensing Sub-Committee met to consider the application for two variations to the existing Krankbrothers Licence for Finsbury Park.

1.  to increase the capacity of the event from 8000 to 9999 on all 4 event days - this was agreed.
2.  to allow an additional Friday tacked on to the existing Saturday and Sunday event - this was refused.  "The Committee were persuaded by complaints from residents about how invasive they found the disturbance and noise from the events in the Park………”
The sub-Committee decisions are contained within the two attached documents.
Krankbrothers have submitted an appeal to the Magistrates Court against the Council’s decision to refuse the additional Friday.  This throws up an interesting situation for the Council.  Presumably the Council will have to support the decision of the Licensing Sub-Committee in court, yet as we all know the Council as park landlord encourage the staging of these events so it might not be completely supportive of the decision.
