Hello.
Did you all get the what’s on Finsbury Park booklet throigh
the door at the weekend ?
I am confused ,
on the back page there was a diary of events for the coming year
It stated above that agreed by residents (I have no memory of being asked ) it is allowed to have up to 5 large festival events with up to 30K attending a year
then goes on to tel us of several events of which at least 6/7 seem to be full on festivals going on this year ?
I am not sure and wondered if anyone else has noticed the same ?
This bothers me for many reasons as Finsbury Park is at the end ofour Road and not wanting
to be a total fun sponge massive events Like Wireless In my opinion really should be in a field in the middle of nowhere , the noise being the least of the problems , not being able to get out of
our Road or park and traffic, and having young kids, hearing the artists swearing over the mike all over the Haringay skies isn’t my favourite bit .
It Seems the boundaries are being stretched more and more every year .
Are they going too far now ?
What are other people’s thoughts on the amount it’s beomg used ?
Thanks

I think some of those events are listed as separate events over a single weekend, and Haringey refer them them as such. But in fact it seems that they’re treating them a single events for counting purposes. See Tris’s list for grouping.
Unfortunately Neil has had to drop out of his colab with Post Malone @ Wireless Tina due to ill health. Post Malone;
Wireless will be 3 nights of wall to wall rap/hip hop/grime. If that's not your thing maybe a few days away would be wise.
No I don't know what happened to Post's teeth. Maybe he walked into one.
It’s not that easy Matt , we have a life , the kids have places to go on the weekends which are made difficult as we can’t get out of our road at the best of times and park without the extra 45K people , I would have to have a few days on all 9 occasions , I don’t even have it half as bad as the people who live on seven sisters road opposite the actual sites of the set ups , their windows shake with the volume . I’m not one to normally care much I like music and people enjoying it and when it was just one I wouldn’t bother about it but now it’s getting bigger and more everyone summer I actually start to dread the summer coming , that’s not really fair is it .
No it's not fair Tina I agree. Maybe fewer events in number per year is the answer. If windows are shaking in apartments on Seven Sisters then they definitely need to raise that with their council. Are you able to get about without a car during those wkds?
I’m afraid that I think your previous reply warranted the response it got.
The arrangement of events might be clear to someone like you who’s spent a lot of time thinking about Finsbury Park events, but it won’t be so to everyone and it clearly wasn’t to me or Tina.
Seems like Haringey are flexible with the truth
it says on the Steel yard website capacity is 25k not the 15K Haringay have said
I think you'll find it is the Steel Yard website that is incorrect. The licence states 15,000.

Do they usually shut the whole park? Can one still walk or cycle through?
absolutely, having a picnic in a building site is exquisite, however, they might move you to get a stage or four in place. remember though, you can't do it once the barriers are closed unless you have a ticket. you can of course picnic, jog, and walk around the barriers. they also make for good shade and leaning.
Oh and don’t forget if you sit still long enough someone will either rob you, fall over you or wee on you, or possibly all 3 . Last year we were walking the dog with our young kids and a women came out of the barrier doors and collapsed on the door drunk off her trolly. Several security guards just stood there watching. Lovely afternoon stroll in your local park.
