A film documentary has been made about the Joyce Vincent whose body was found in a flat above the Shopping City in 2006 and who had been dead for almost three years. It will be shown at the BFI film festival and is due for general release next March. Here's the link to article in the Guardian about it:

Ant, roughly what time this morning?

I wonder if the documentary looks more into the 'domestic violence' aspect because it's probably what tipped Joyce's life over the edge. The Guardian article only mentions this in passing.
Thanks HK. I heard this on the radio this morning (was between 7 and 8 Matt if that helps narrow it down).
Such a sad story, especially having read the article and heard a bit more about her life. I do remember the coverage when she was first found, but it was all very anonymous and so didn't really hit home. A very moving example of how people can just vanish from your life, and how easy it is to assume they'll just be doing fine.
Hi this is such a sad and quite frankly unfathomable story...why wasnt more done to find out what happened? I remember when this happened there was a tiny article in the local paper...unknown woman found. Can we have a local screening?
Eileen
I think it's on general release next March according to the newspaper article. I'm not sure this would be the type of film that would show in either of the WG multiplexes but you never know. I think the Director came up this way to do the Radio 4 interview so perhaps she might be persuaded. There's a twitter feed on the offical website so we could try make a request through that. I'd imagine that the Phoenix in Finchley might be the type of establishment to screen it.
