I've just discovered that the Algerian grocery on the block opposite Barclay's bank sell Feuilles de Brick, a slightly thicker and crispier version of filo pastry that is used in North African cuisine. Makes lovely little "parcels" with vegetables or cheese, or even sweet fillings.
I used to buy them from an online French supermarket where they cost twice the price plus delivery charges, so I am very happy to find it round the corner!
(They also gave me a free piece of date-bread, as I was disappointed that they are no longer doing the Millefeuille pastries - apparently these were just for Ramadan, but they might start selling them year-round soon>)

Yes I love Al Fath too. Such nice guys! And that pastry is heavenly... I think we should all get onto their case about the mille feuilles as i'd love to have them on a more regular basis. Oh and the brioche rolls!
