The Met are just getting some new gear.
First some new Piaggio MP3 bikes:
These will apparently help the Safer Transport Command Roads Response Team carry out their pan-London responsibilities which include dealing with congestion, roadworks, or other incidents disrupting London's road network.
Then there's the Vauxhall Ampera:
The Met is taking part in trials of this revolutionary new extended range electric car.
The Ampera is powered at all times by an electric motor and is fully charged in three hours, which will cost roughly about eighty pence using off-peak electricity.
