Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just wanted to put in a good word for the great new menu at Jam in a Jar. I'd heard it had improved recently and have not been disappointed...

I've been a fan of this place since it opened, but until now would not have rated or recommended the food especially. Last night, however, Mr Abster and I ended up a bit stuck for ideas with Blend closed and the Salisbury having stopped serving - and while we both like Turkish food, we're veggies, so are limited to mezze which doesn't always hit the spot.

Anyway - we rocked up quite late in the evening at Jam in a Jar and the chefs were still working away, cooking up great appetisers and main courses. We ended up having a selection of both, including a delicious arancini starter, polenta and roast veg main, and the quality was superb. So they've really upped their game on this front.

The atmosphere was also amazing - live band were worth catching and everyone seemed on good form. Let's hope this continues! My one point of criticism is that both the beer and the wine we both wanted was out (a common problem I gather) -but I had a cocktail instead which was first rate.

Anyone else liking the selection here?

Abster, I know this wasn't the point of your thread, but just thought I should mention that the veggie kebab and veggie moussaka at selale (and probably others) are well worth a try if you're fed up with the mezze...

Will check out the new jaminajar food when I get a chance!

That's well worth knowing, thanks. I haven't been to Selale yet, so it's good to have an alternative!
