Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Chanced upon this which mentions our Mr Suleyman Ergun, a well-known local businessman, see para 16ff. There's a whole other world out there.

I was only looking up about the pandas.

Some background info here. I can't see who edits that site but it does seem to have a lot of info, collected from public sources it says.

"According to British police there is a generation of Turkish Cypriot businessmen who became rich through drug trafficking and are now investing in legitimate companies: cafes, bars, wholesaling companies. The Bank of England began an offensive against the numerous Turkish and Cypriot banks in England used for laundering drug money. The first bank to be closed, in October 1996, was the Cyprus Credit Bank, owned by the Boyaci family, which is related to Rauf Denktas, then president of the unrecognised Turkish Cypriot Republic."

The Cyprus Credit Bank in Green Lanes is now a Better Bet, which can also be good for laundering money.
