Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Yesterday I was going down Wightman road and saw a man walking an extremely skinny and emaciated looking dog (quite young I would say). It was possibly a Labrador or similar, but it was so unbelievably skinny that it was difficult to tell the breed. They went past me quite quickly and I hesitated a bit too long, not knowing what to do. Chances are that this is a genuinely sick dog, who is being looked after by a very caring owner, but part of me is regretting not asking the owner what was wrong with this poor dog.

I vaguely remember someone posting about a similar sighting not so long ago and I am wondering if this might be the same dog? Does anyone know this dog and their owner?

Thanks

If anyone sees it again they could try getting a photo - if safe to do so. Hopefully your local police will look out for it and deal with if seen.

It's probably a Whippet. They do look very sad and emaciated but that's how some people like their dogs. They're very popular in Crouch End.

Definitely not a whippet! Just a very malnourished dog. Similar to the pictures i am attaching here...

Hope the dog is OK. I don't remember a previous post, but will ask around to see if anyone knows the dog.

I had a situation once where I saw someone hitting their dog on the street. I felt nervous about speaking to the owner because the owner seemed aggressive, so I followed them to see where they lived in order to make a note of their address so that I could report to the RSPCA. They are then able to investigate if they have an address. (I also gave details to the police as they happened to drive by shortly after the incident).

I've met what looked like a really really skinny Lab in Ally Pally a few times, turned out to be a lab/collie cross with the look of a chocolate lab and the waist of a collie. Looks a bit worrying at first glance but actually perfectly  happy and healthy. Might be that dog or a similar cross?

If you look at those photos it is horrific and would never e mistaken for a slim trim health dog
How can people do that
Ah! Great! Good to know. Now I don't feel as bad for not asking.
Thanks for sharing.
