Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi
Just thought I'd ask if there are any late diagnosed dsylexics out there? I was diagnosed at 36, but always kind of guessed I was maybe borderline. Turns out I am a classic case.

Getting support at work and uni now which is good. Seems I put myself under a lot of undue stress for many years. It's like "coming out" again. I'm telling everyone. Irish and dsylexic tho', think of the mileage of jokes you can get with that ;o)

Would be good to hear of anyone elses experiences in the workplace, etc.

Hi Colin

How did you hear about your dyslexia?

I have often wondered as I find certain tasks more difficult that they should be and getting words and phrases mixed up.

I have never been an intellectual academic type but not too stupid and often make basic errors. I would be interested to find out whether I have a mild form or, as my wife would suggest just thick : )

Ta, B2
Hi B2 try this as a start:

http://www.bdadyslexia.org.uk/Dyslexia%20Screener.html

Your employer can help after that or contact Access to Work
Thanks for sharing Colin. It's raised my awareness and led to some interesting learning.
Thanks both. That article is great, v. inspiring. Maybe I should give up my office job and become a struggling artist ;o)
