Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello everyone,

I have never driven on the left (native italian) and was considering getting a bike since I used to drive one in Italy. Any suggestion related to driving schools around? I am just a little worried and scared about driving on the left and therefore I would like to go back to school just for a little bit before going back on the road!

many thanks

If you're talking about a motorbike, you could go and do a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) Course. This will give you the basics for road driving, a talk about road and rider safety and common sense, basic manoeuvres, and then a ride out on the roads with an instructor. They will supply a bike if needed.

If it's a motorbike, then I'd recommend https://www.1stopinstruction.com/

You can't ride a 125cc in the UK without taking a CBT (we never got that benefit from the EU of being able to ride a 125cc on a car licence), Under a car licence you can ride a 50cc after a CBT with no L plates, once you have taken a CBT you can ride a 125cc with L plates. To ride a 125cc without L plates you need a class A1 licence taken as a Module 1 and a Module 2 test, a 500cc is a class A2 licence again with a module 1 and module 2 test and a full A licence is whatever you like. If you are over 24 years ols look at doing your CBT and then your DAS to gain a full A licence.

I'm a full A licence holder and happy to see more on the road.

I'm sure our resident arsehole will be along shortly to say ebike, ebike, cycle as he can't comprehend anything outside his small sphere of existence. And the idea that anyone is different to him is abhorrent.

Not a fan of him either?
