It will be interesting to see what happens when people become confident that such a car will stop when they walk in front of it. All towns and villages will revert to people walking wherever they like and all cars sitting in the middle of the road, unable to move until late at night when people have gone to bed. Who would bother to use a car under such circumstances? It would be quicker to walk everywhere.
