Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

With Harringay's days of decadence now just a fading memory, it was a refreshing change to see something just a little bit naughty on the strip.

Tramp owner Haldun Ozdemir has already been running successful jazz nights for the past few months and he and the team are now trying out other ideas. Last night was Tramp's first drag night. The event attracted a decent audience who enjoyed the participative pub-style cabaret. We were treated to lip-synch 'vocal' performance accompanied occasionally by members of the audience. Later in the evening there were some talented male dancers from one of the drama schools in Islington.

It wasn't a West End performance, but it was all good clean fun with a little bit of decadent dancing thrown in. It attracted a good audience who were delighted to see something different in Harringay and all of whom seemed to be having a great time.

Tramp manager Elina told me that in a couple of weeks' time there's to be a ballet dancer joining Tramp for an evening of dining and performance.

Good on you guys. Keep the ideas coming.

It was my first time in Tramps and I enjoyed the experience.  The show was pretty good.  Really liked the decor of the restaurant.  The toilet is beautiful.  The bruschetta was excellent.  I would go back again.  Kudos to Tramps for trying something a little bit different.

Thanks Cowper, love to see you back again!

Hugh, you scrub up well ;) On a serious note, I noticed there was a charge of £10 pp - did think include anything like a free drink?

I wasn't aware of any charge. If you look at Tramp's event listing, it says 'Free Entry'.

There was no cover charge.  We didn't even eat, but we drank a lot of wine so maybe they let us off this time ;)  Think it is fair and sustainable for the restaurant to buy some food whether its a starter or dessert.  It was very kind of them to let us just drink and we will try the food the next time which looked amazing.  I also got a free shot and a GnT for humiliating myself.  It was great fun and met some local LGBT people.  Well done Tramp! PS I am glad photos of me didn't make the cut Hugh.  I would have killed ya :D

Thank you!

No charge Justin. Just welcomed the opportunity of people's feedback on some of the creative ideas we have for our beautiful venue and we got just that and thrilled with the positive response. Onwards and Upwards, will keep you posted.
