Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Plans published last week - replacing the timber cladding on the gymnasium at Downhills Harris School with a fancy new fascia and renewing windows.

Here's the link.  Case number   HGY/2012/2122  Open for comments but for 21 days so you have just two weeks left.  They are saving the rainforest by using plastic? cement? Something called Cedral Weatherboard. I particularly like the photos of the colour range, in a black n white document.

Does the £200k cost come from 'Lord' Harris' petty cash, or from my rates?

But where are the ankle-deep carpets?  I'm sure the old crittal window frames will be salvaged for some of the non-academy schools. Waste not, want not.

Why not write to Phil Harris and ask him? I'm certain he'll be delighted to explain exactly what's happening and  who is paying.

In the highly unlikely event that your polite inquiry is somehow overlooked by his Lordship - easy to do in his busy schedule of dismantling State education in the public interest - a Freedom of Information Act request may assist him. We plebs in poor areas really must try to do our small bit to help these altruistic aristos.
