Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Don't want to stir out - who's got an Indian takeaway to recommend?

We're too lazy to stir out into the chilly rain and fancy getting dinner delivered. Who's got a local Indian takeaway they'd recommend? I've seen the listings elsewhere on here, but they're light on reviews. Come on, help us get fat as well as lazy!

Sounds good Pinkey - but the link you've given is to Massala, not Masala Hut. Which one is it you like?
Dagnabbit now you've done it; I'm just going to have to eat Indian tonight.

PS Masala Hut deliver to Harringay.

+1 for Jashan but they don't do takeaway and +1 for Tiffin Tin - our regular Indian takeaway. Call early though because they get busy and then you have a wait for your food. Happy eating!

I gave up ordering from Tiffin Tin after a couple of occasions when I waited up to two hours for food to arrive, though I admit it was very tasty. Maybe they've improved things a bit by now.

I have had a couple of waits with them but recently have had to give them a 'do not deliver before time' as they have been so quick I have been in the shower or not warmed the plates up

I've just used them and sorry to say ordering took almost 5 mins and the food was promised in 45 mins but took almost an hour and a half. It was good but for me not so good that I'd ignore the frustrations. I'll probably try somewhere else next time. The food was also only luke warm. Shame.

I once placed an order in advance to pick up at a specific time instead of having it delivered - I still had to wait in the shop for twenty minutes, and it wasn't a busy time.

Well, we ordered from Masala Hut and the food arrived from Massala. So I'm guessing some sort of consolidation has taken place.
Very nice it was too. We will spend the rest of the evening slowly deflating. (burp).

tiffin tin - hornsey high street (dear but bloody good......paneer kebab to die for)

jalalaya - priory rd

I'd also recommend Tiffin Tin, but only if you're eating early in the evening, because as others have said, once they're busy, delivery can take an age and we have had luke warm food delivered before. You get the impression they stack-up a load of orders and then deliver them all in one hit. Very good food when it turns up hot, though.

Tiffin Tin remains by far the best Indian takeaway in North London, there is absolutely no comparison in terms of the quality and flavour of the food. I've been a regular customer for about 4 years now and would even say I'm a little addicted...

As others have said though, they are a bit of a victim of their own success, and this affects service sometimes. They are usually up front about how long a delivery will take, but we've waited over two hours on a couple of occasions and got very grudging compensation after making a fuss about it.

I have also occasionally had them claim they don't deliver to my area, despite ordering with them at least once a month for the past 18 months.  Again, I think this is a bit of a poor attitude to take towards loyal customers, but they have always agreed to deliver when I've pointed this out to them and the food still wins!
