Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

WEDNESDAY EVENINGS 7.30 til 9pm Union Church, corner of Ferme Park Road and Weston Park

After a particularly good Songworks session last night I want to put the word out again about this fantastic choir. It is for anyone who wants to sing. There are no auditions everyone is welcome. The ethos of the choir is very much in line with the African proverb "if you can walk you can dance, if you can talk you can sing". All parts are taught by ear so you don't need to be able to read music. Generally the songs are easy to pick up and big on impact. You will be amazed at how good a group of amateurs can sound. But more importantly you will be amazed at how good it can feel to sing your heart out.

Over the last few months we have sung, If I had words (from the film Babe), Thank you for the Days by The Kinks, Nowhere man by the Beatles, sea shanties, negro spirituals, an apple wassail, a maori song to the ancestors, All around my Hat by Steeleye Span.

We perform occasionally at local events but the emphasis is always on enjoyment and there is no pressure to perform.

If you are interested, then the sessions are on a drop in basis though a regular commitment is recommended. The first one is free to see if it's for you and after that it's £6/£8.
