Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Do you live on Raleigh Road?
If so, do you live anywhere near no.79? I'm trying to find out more about the application for a certificate of lawfulness for this property. The claim is that it has been 2 separate flats for more than 4 years. Do you know anything about it? Have you seen any work going on at the property recently? Please let me know (either by posting here or by sending me a PM).

council tax records show it's been flats since Summer 2005

That doesn't count for much. Developers can easily phone up VOA, claim a property has been converted since 200x and, provided they agree to back-pay the council tax, the records are amended. Can be a small price to pay for 'legitimising' an illegal development.
Though in this case, I have spoken to VOA, who have told me the request to change was also made in 2005 so this may be a genuine application.

Why was the landlord not prosecuted in 2005 when they announced to the government that they had illegally converted a house into flats? It's almost as if they want houses converted into flats close to tube stations...
