But what it's really all about is Cob in the Community’s Meadow Orchard Project in Crouch End. The project is offering what it positions as 'affordable' weekend courses throughout August, September and October for aspiring eco-builders (with free voluntary taster classes on Fridays).

The offer is an opportunity to learn about the cob, straw baling, rendering, earth ovens and roof making: all useful life skills and a means of good exercise.

Once complete, the Meadow Orchard Project will be an educational and relaxing haven with bee hives, veg patches and meditation for all.
