Thanks John. I'm assuming that it must be road resurfacing since nothing came up on the utility works briefing this week:

Harringay

No major or disruptive works planned in Ward.

First Crouch End and now here. All in the last weeks of March. Were all these works planned, I wonder, or do we have some end of year spending here?

Is it clear which part of Wightman is affected?

I'm OK with it. Just thought some folk would appreciate the warning.

Is it clear which part of Wightman is affected?

Don't know - the sign is at the north end, opposite the mosque.

I do. Any clues as to which part of the road is affected?

There are signs along Wightman indicating parking restrictions from about the mosque up until Beresford Road (going south, obvs). Might go beyond Beresford, not sure.

I've just searched in Haringey Council's Road Works & Road Closures database and surprise surprise it's not listed

Numerous vehicles have been coming the wrong way down Falkland Road for the last couple of days for some reason. I can only asume the wrong signposts/no signposts have been put up. Which is Not On as this is a major foot traffic area for primary school children (and their families)

Any ideas who to contact?

Not sure. Try:

Police.

Well I completely forgot about this, drove along Wightman normally this morning - coming home this afternoon was a different story. It was complete carnage - the traffic light phasing was stunningly wrong. My light went green and we all set off to come to a complete stand still because of cars coming the other way. So either they'd specularly jumped a red light or the ladder rung roads hadn't been closed and they've come from them. So we all just sat there for ages until finally the road workers realised nothing was moving, downed tools and sorted it out by stopping anyone else coming along, getting my lane onto the rough surface they were trying to work on and clearing us all.

Complete madness, and I had 2 very hot and grumpy children in the back.

Anyway we've managed to get home and are now enjoying the fabulous weather with an unexpected holiday because school is on strike.

I'm Wightman Rd end of Lausanne Rd and it looks like resurfacing. Drivers insist on leaning on their horns because there's a traffic jam. Infuriating. That and next door's smoke alarm battery dying (for about 4 weeks) is making me GRUMPY!
