My favourite caff of all time is the Turkish Cafe in the 'Greek Village' on Eade Road. Might be a bit far away for Harringey dwellers. They do the best set breakfasts also kebabs, bolognaise etc. My guilty treat is the chips, fried eggs, liver, onions and gravy. Heaven after a heavy night out! Also no telly, good service and good tea and coffee.

copy Tom...where is it???

For posh/not cheap breakfast and out of this world coffee I usually do Blend. Because I'm fond of it I do Lemon when I can but I don't have their breakfasts, the sausages are not great. Park View Cafe is quite an experience and I guess you'd have to try it to decide if it's for you.

I've seen some pretty mean comments about Lemon on here recently which is a bit hard to take given how I feel treated when I'm in there. Please do give them a go, they're the original cool cafe on Green Lanes.

Went there last week, John, and I felt invisible; one waitress chatting to her pal and another wiping tables and keeping her head down....for 5 minutes...walked out...and the place was nearly empty...

I agree that Lemon had begun to decline, but owner gave a response and apology online. I revisited since and there were new staff and I thought they were much more attentive. It's always been my favourite little cafe on green lanes and I hope they haven't lost too much custom, especially now there's more competition.

@Norah - where is this on Eade Road? I didn't know there was anywhere to get food or drink there apart from the New River Studios cafe.

Tom, Follow Eade road all the way round (away from seven sisters road) to the Greek Village, there are clothes shops, a gym and the cafe. You could also cut through the warehouses at New River (which would be quicker and more fun) to Overbury road, veer left towards Hermitage road and there you are.

Green Lanes Cafe do a nice all day breakfast, reasonably priced, just next to Selale/Tesco Express

Yes, it's pretty good. Bun & Bar's brekkie is also pretty good if you're in the mood for a fry-up.

Passion Cafe on 549 Green Lanes* do a delish lunch - try their Polish sausage and mash - tis quite yummy! And do buy one of their jars of spicy pears shelved next to their front door. That is another treat.

*It is almost opposite one end of St Ann's Road.

Am currently lunching at Green Lanes Cafe as recommended. Very impressed and will be back.....

I was in N4 on Saturday sitting right under the TV and it was on mute - maybe they've been reading this thread. They're still my personal favourite for a cheap fry up
