Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This morning on the pavement outside 17 Beresford Road there was a dead black cat.
I phoned the RSPCA who told me to get in touch with the council of which I did.

Poor cat. Thanks for letting us know. The council will also get the cat scanned to see if it is microchipped so that the owner can be contacted.

If you keep a cat inside at night, it reduces the risk of them getting lost or injured by a car. If you have a microwave, get a Snugglesafe heat pad to make their bed warm and cosy at home. It's important to have a cat flap so that a cat can come and go freely during the day and then lock the cat flap at night so that the cat is safe inside at night. The cat will need a litter tray, but it's worth it. If you know anyone with a cat or dog, please advise them to get them microchipped and neutered.

I have a cat who will be sixteen years old on the 28th of this month and my cat is kept in every night.
My cat has no access to the road as she isn't allowed on the road there is our garden for her access which she uses.

That's good to hear. Yes you're right, it's best never to let cats out the front.

I was just giving general advice to cat owners out there as this is the second dead cat on a road in the last few days.

Yes, I saw the cat too, but was in a rush to catch a train, so didn't do anything to investigate/report it - it's a good job Anna Maria Dipino did. I did take a photo of it, so if anyone is missing a black/dark chocolate cat, I can show the photograph to help with identification. It seemed quite young.

Hi there

My cat went missing a few months ago. It's was black/very dark brown. It had a colour with little reflectors.
Does that resemble the cat you guys saw??

Regards
Pav

Hello, Pav,

If it's the cat that comes up on your page, that's not it. This cat had no markings - it was completely very dark brown/almost black in colour, and the fur was quite thick (shorthair). It wasn't wearing a collar. If you post a photo of your cat, I can tell you for sure. That's probably better than me putting up my 'dead cat' photo, which could be upsetting for viewers.

Hi McFiji. Here's a photo of another missing local cat, which is chocolate brown.

Hi Pav. Just to let you know there's still a black cat with no collar hanging round the back gardens of Duckett Rd and Cavendish Road. The cat is skinny and seems to be living in a large shed in a back garden of a property on Cavendish Rd.  We see it looking for food. My neighbour is going to try to entice the cat inside but the cat is nervous.

Hello, Justine,

I don't think this is the one - they one I saw was darker, stockier, hair thicker and there were no subtle markings, like the one shown in this photo.
