'Daylight' robbery at Barclays ATM

As I was picking up some lamb chops (and a sneaky mille feuille) across the road this afternoon, a woman was relieved of her cash withdrawal from the Barclays ATM.

The offenders took flight up Umfreville Road with the victim chasing close after.

I left the shop and followed them up the road. I and another bystander followed and blocked the road when one of the group tried to back track.

He appeared to be of mixed-race or possibly North African descent. There is also a good chance that he'd been subjected to a PE-lite UK education as he lacked any level of athletic prowess (let's assume that the recent Olympic successes are the exception to the rule). As he waddled like a penguin up the road a black hatchback drove by and picked him up.

One of the witnesses suggested that the car had been waiting with its door open on Green Lanes.

As I walked back down towards Green Lanes the Po Po were in hot pursuit. They wound down the window and I suggested that they should be looking for a black car. "Ohh... a black CAR..." was the response.
