Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

A few weeks back whilst strolling up to Sainsbury's on Stroud Green Rd I was pretty shocked to see they had a large photo of my patio garden on full display up in their window. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, my house is available to rent... immediately! Surprising that, considering I've never been in touch with David Andrew and have no inclination of moving. I then looked on their website to find they had incorrect specs of my house and outdated photographs of each of the property. I called pretending to be interested in renting the place and surprise, surprise was told it had just been rented but they had another garden property just like it! I called back the following day and made a complaint to which they responded it was just their way of drawing in future landlords.

Slimy tactics like these is what gives Estate Agents a bad rap.  Shame on you!

I would have sent them a huge bill for 'location services#. How did they manage to get into your property to photograph it?

They must have had the property on their books at one time or another a few years back before I moved in.

I think this is known in retail as "bait and switch" and similar tactics are used by some employment agencies (advertising attractive but non-existent jobs). This is pretty cheeky. But I do expect that David Andrew Estate Agents did not expect that their little ruse would be revealed on HoL and viewed by dozens of people.

One thousand, two hundred and sixty-seven HoL views recorded as I type this.

And it's the second page which comes up on Google when you search for "David Andrew Estate Agents".

That's really quite shocking - can't you report them to Trading Standards or something?

That's incredible. I'd want to have a little chat with the manager and then report them. Bloody cheek.

You should definitely report them to the Property Ombudsman.

I noticed it was up on Rightmove to which I've now noticed it has a note saying the property has now been removed.

I think DA were pretty shocked themselves when they got my call...they probably weren't expecting to be busted!

Slimy gits! Note to self: Never do business with them. Ever. And tell everyone I know. Up yours, David Andrew!

re. David Andrew Estate Agents.

Anette: do you think that if David Andrew Estate Agents are mentioned several times on one web site, that people using search engines (looking for David Andrew Estate Agents) will be directed to a discussion about David Andrew Estate Agents and the kind of promotion they are prepared to use?

Or would it just boost business for them? Can they be trusted?

The conduct of David Andrew Estate Agents tends to give all estate agents, David Andrews included, a bad name.

Estate Agents ? A bad name ? Heaven forfend !

Steve at Castles excluded from above sarcasm

Christmas card's in the post ;)
