Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

hello everyone

could anyone recommend a damp proofing company or surveyor as removal of

wall panelling and kitchen units in my flat has unearthed a problem.

Many thanks

Hi,

We've used Kenwood in the past and they seem quite good.

Thanks.

There is nothing particularly mysterious and special about damp. A good builder should be able to work with you to find out what the issue is and will have access to all the same remedies as any damp company.

If, nonetheless, you decide to go with a damp expert, I suggest that you go with independent damp surveyor who won’t actually do the work and isn’t linked to anybody who will do the work. That way you should at least get an unbiased opinion.

Can't agree more. The damp proofing industry is a massive scam. I found this resource very helpful in debunking a number of myths:

Eye opening post. Thanks.

There have been a few posts about damp which have recommendations - if you click on the tag below your post they should come up. I really recommend doing what Hugh suggests - we did this to get advice on 3 damp issues and they were all resolvable very quickly & cheaply.
