According to a mailing I’ve just received from them, the council has decided not to scrap daily visitor parking permits across the borough as they’d originally intended. Had the plan gone ahead, it would have meant a big cost increase for residents, who would have had to buy more expensive one-hour visitor permits to make up a day’s worth. As a previous thread pointed out, the planned change would also have been inequitable, affecting the east side of the borough (including our area) more drastically than parts of Crouch End, for example, where CPZ hours are frequently much shorter.
This looks like a rare occasion where the council has actually listened to the objections raised in a statutory consultation and changed a policy in favour of what residents want.
