Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Since when did it become acceptable to ride a bike on the pavement- over the age of 10?

Everyday now I see someone cycling up or down my road, Pemberton. Different adults, I mean. I’ve also seen cyclists on the pavement on Wightman, but the most ridiculous sight was when I saw a man, on his bike, weaving his way through a throng of pedestrians on Wood Green High St!

The imperious ring of their tinny bell if someone has the temerity be walking down the road, in their path.

Grr 😡

I usually shout out, “Doesn’t your mum let you ride on the road…?”

The response is often a baffled stare. I like the idea of a spot fine, Pamela.

Pamela, you have a sensible, if rare, view reminding us that cyclists are also pedestrians.  I accept that vehicles on roads are dangerous for cyclists.  It follows, then, that cyclists on pavements are dangerous for pedestrians.  Surely then it's a matter of caring for yourself and not giving a hoot about anyone else.
