Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Yesterday when walking down Green Lanes I was nearly hit by a man riding a bike weaving in and out of the pedestrians on the pavement. The man was cycling quite quickly and if I hadn't jumped out of the way I think I would have got quite badly hurt. I have noticed that a lot of cyclists are using the pavements on Green Lanes and every time I see it I think how dangerous it is, particularly for older people who I can imagine will find it quite intimidating (I know I do!) These people are not children and really should be cycling on the road.

Has anyone else experienced this problem on Green Lanes?

Illegal of course anyway. No insurance so if he causes injury, and it can be serious, the victim is in BIG trouble.  They give good bikers a bad name.

The reason I feel strongly about this is that a friend and work colleague was hit by a cyclist riding on the pavement. She spent five years in a vegetative state before they turned her off.

That's very sad. What happened to the cyclist? I feel strongly about it because I'm a cyclist and some days I get home and just know that I am going to one day die on my bicycle despite being a very defensive cyclist.

I don't know John. It happened in Toronto.
