Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Criterion Steak House

I wonder whether anyone remembers the Criterion Steak House on Queens Parade on Green Lanes, which would have been there in the 1960s, 1970s and possibly 1980s.

Any information and memories welcome!

I remember it from 1985 to 1987 for certain. Not sure when it shut. I had a good few Steak Dianes in there. Big helpings and great value. I am not surprised they shut. It was too good to be true.

Just found this - my family used it from time to time in the 50s and 60s. In fact one year our house was burgled on Christmas Eve and in effect Christmas was stolen! So Dad rang the Criterion  and they squeezed us in - mind it was a bit of a joke since dad was a copper!

Well now I was 20 when I last lived in Frobisher and I reckon my last visit to the Crite was a few years earlier... so, how old was she!   ;-)
