Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Tougher action should be taken against the thousands of parents who lie to get their children into popular schools, England's school places watchdog says.

Schools Adjudicator Ian Craig said an estimated 3,500 parents lied on school application forms each year.

Local authorities should use all means open to them to deter parents from cheating the admissions system.

It's a bit rich listening to Ed Balls waxing moral about parents who flip their homes to pretend to be in a better catchment area. Weren't Ed & Yvette Cooper the first parliamentary couple to get a bit confused as to whether their main residence was in Westminster or Yorkshire? Just like Jacquie Smith's allowance for kipping at her sister's place - but at least she resigned and made a pretend apology. 'Do as we say - don't dare lying as we do.'
