Heard from a local (Hornsey) community group
"I don't know if people are aware of this but in case people aren't and want to get their campaigning hats on Haringey borough seems as if it is on the point of selling off all its Community Centres, which are let on varying leases, some full-repairing, some not due for termination yet etc etc. The whole process is causing uproar at council meetings , and extensive consternation and ill-will throughout the borough's Community groups affected....."
This includes Jackson's Lane Theatre, Hornsey Historical Society Old Schoolhouse, leisure centres
Has anyone else heard anything about this recently? Wonder why local councillors are not informing constituents?

Lesley, where have you been? And why the shock? The KoberTories had already decided to cut a quarter of the social workers; and to reduce front-line provision including for children and for people with autism. You really think putting the boot into a few community centres is going to bother them?
These Lilliputians are having a great time deciding on who's going to be the Mayor and other vain nonsense. And awarding themselves pay rises.
Anyway in fire-sale Haringey lots more has to go. How else can they continue to fund their endless stream of consultants? To hand out free premises for a starchitect ; take on ever more "regeneration" staff ; go on more trips to Cannes ; subsidise chicken restaurants ; design a new pointless logo ; fund Asos ; pay for the the podium works in River Park House. And that's before we get to the bill for hiring High Court lawyers "defending the indefensible", as one judge pointedly remarked.
