Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi all.

I'm on the Gardens, and whilst everyone around us seems to be putting in very, very lovely side return kitchen extensions, we just want a simple set of bifolds/patio/French doors at the end of the kitchen. There's just a single small window there atm so the job would be: installing beam, making the opening, putting in the doors, making good.

Does anyone have recent experience of how much it might cost to do this, and ONLY this? ( I'd do more if we could, just can't atm!)

Hi there we had similar project at our house done in 2019.

in all it was about 6.5 k. 3k for the bi folds and about 3k for the building work (making opening/steel/render and calcs) and about 500£ for building control to sign it off.

hope this helps.

Brilliant, thanks M. X

Also, sorry to be a PITA, but would you mind passing on the name of your contractors?

 Not a problem.

The contractor we used for the building work isn’t available as they have moved abroad, but the glazing company we used is called Edgeware Glazing. I would recommend them on both quality and pricing. The guys names Tony and this is his number: 079 6673 6915. He might be able to put you in contact with a contractor for the building work?

Many thanks M. I'll give him a bell. X

I did install a bi-fold door with this company https://www.hswdltd.co.uk/contact.html

it was reasonably cheap, they have connections with builders that can do steel work, Structural engineers for calculations

I know this is an old post but we’re considering exactly the same thing - any updated advice or recommendations very welcome, especially in relation to the building work.
