Consultation on sex establishment policy
This was emailed to all borough councillors for forwarding to residents:
We have until 15th December to comment (object or support) teh proposed policy. thought HoLers would want to be aware.
Dear Councillors, I write to advise that we are now underway with the consultation on the draft sex establishment policy.
In summary we are putting forward a nil by ward policy across the borough. Feel free to pass the document on as you would like.
I am happy to discuss any queries.

Omotn, surely all that was clear from a cursory reading of the document? Why dumb it down for intelligent HOL readers?
But your suggested amendment doesn't allow for the fact that "clientele and residents" may well be one and the same.
I'm still convinced there's place for a bijou Pole or Lap dancing club on the islet in Finsbury Park. Please don't try to make up our residents' minds for them.

Surely we elect our leaders to lead us. Making up residents' minds for them is exactly what LBH should and generally, by means of 'consultation', do. It's just that in this case my prejudice and that of the ruling cabal happen to coincide.

One of the justifications put forward for NOT allowing councils to outright ban gambling establishments was that it would drive it underground and into residential areas. I think Haringey are either showing ignorance of the potential consequences of not allowing licensed sex establishments on our high streets or they think we're just too prude not to host our own lap dancing nights should our urges to indulge overcome us.
They certainly know how to get HoL hot and bovvered.
