Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just a heads up that there is an older Chinese man going door to door in our area, trying to get people to phone a number for him. (He speaks very little English, but he holds up the number and mimes phoning).

The problem is that the woman concerned does not want to speak to him, as he has been harassing her with calls many times a day and she has now blocked him. Seems he is trying to get around this by calling from other peoples' phones.

He has been to us four times this week, including at 7 am Saturday morning, ringing the bell persistently. Other people on the street have reported the same thing, but I don't know how far afield he roams, or where he lives.

I hope he is ok. Understand this can be distressing for those he approaches but maybe someone could contact the police and they could speak with him and also make sure he’s alright and possibly signpost him towards getting some help with his struggle as it’s obviously playing on his mind. He could be a vulnerable person or being taken advantage of in some way by the person he is trying to contact.

No it's nothing like that - but don't want to explain here. We have contacted the police.

Ok good, best to let them sort it out.

Oh no! And of course people think they are being neighbourly by making the call for him, but they are actually becoming an accessory to harassment...
