I just posted this on a reply to an old thread and then thought perhaps I should start a new thread so apologies if I am doubling up. Last Friday I had lunch at the new community cafe on Terront Road and it was really excellent - worth recommending. The food was as good as I'd expect in a posh Crouch End cafe. Last Friday was the last in a four-week pilot scheme, but they are back in May and I def recommend you get along there is you live nearby. Seriously, great food.
They have a blog with more info http://fillingthegapcommunitycafe.blogspot.co.uk and I have also written a more in-depth review on my own blog: http://londinimum.wordpress.com/2012/03/26/new-community-cafe-in-n15/

I can second this, although I am one of the volunteers who help serve at the cafe - so I'm not completely impartial.
But I've tried all the food and it is really delicious, and the atmosphere is great.
Yes, I heard about this when I went to Chestnuts jumble on Saturday. Looks like a good idea!
Thank you. I am one of the co-founders and we have been overwhelmed by the response to our pilot scheme. We'll be back on May 11th for another 3 Fridays and I will post some info nearer that time. Hope lots of you can come. Thanks Julie for your volunteering expertise, Rachel for the review and Reggie for you interest.
This place really is fab. I went to three out of four of the pilot days and had a lovely time - tasty food for me and my infant son : )
Best of luck for the next session, keep us posted! x
