Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

COFFEE & COMPUTERS helps (mostly, but not exclusively, older) people become less isolated via helping them to acquire basic computer skills. By offering these vital tools, we

foster human contact & enrich lives.

Our sessions, which are free and open to all, start with a group chat about what issues participants are facing with IT. This could include wanting to gain confidence with Facebook or finding out how to surf the web or discovering how to use internet banking. Participants, working with the technology that they most use - tablet, laptop, smartphone etc -  are then matched with a volunteer who will work with them in the session for an hour or so helping them improve their skills in a relaxed setting, which includes free refreshments. Currently, every month, we run 6 sessions in 5 Haringey locations  and we are planning on opening in other locations in the not-too-distant future.

At this time, we are particularly looking for help with our Turnpike Lane group, (2nd Thursday of each month 11.00 - 12.30 at The Shine Centre, 91 Turnpike Lane, N8 0DY) and at Crouch End (3rd Wednesday 10.30 -12.30 at Hornsey Library)

If you have patience and basic home computer skills, we cordially invite you to get involved with this rewarding and exciting project.
