Cinema Club for the over 60s: THE ODYSSEY; Thu 6 Aug; 12:00pm, Finsbury Park PictureHouse

Hello all;                                                                                 

The next offering from the Cinema Club for the over 60s is the film THE ODYSSEY at the Finsbury Park PictureHouse at 12:00pm on Thursday 6 Aug. The cost is now £9.99.  There is no longer a Silver Screen card.  All you have to do is show up.  This film is three hours. So, it should finish around 3:30pm.  It may be long, but it has a star-studded cast.  There are a lot of trailers too and air conditioning. 

Here is the synopsis:
Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey – the follow-up to 2023’s Academy Award-winning phenomenon Oppenheimer – transforms Homer’s foundational saga into a boundary-pushing cinematic epic blending action and myth.

Its story follows battle-worn Odysseus (Matt Damon), the King of Ithaca, and his decade-long journey home after the Trojan War – to reunite with his loyal, iron-willed Queen Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and their devoted son, Telemachus (Tom Holland).

What unfurls is a thrilling adventure tale of gods and monsters, as Odysseus and his warriors face tests of courage, valour and endurance if they are to return home.

Contains a sequence of flashing lights which might affect customers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy
